Corn Blasting

     Corn Blasting is a cleaning/stripping method similar to sandblasting but using finely-ground corn cob instead of sand. There are no harsh chemicals or water used in this process. Corn Blasting will remove virtually any stain or finish from your logs (or cedar clapboards) thereby allowing you to refinish your exterior any way you choose. It can even have that "just built" look again.

     A small amount of dust can be expected inside an older log home, but that is a small consequence compared to lots of water.

     Corn Blasting is by far the best method of surface preparation we've ever used. When the blasting is done we lightly sand all the blasted surfaces to further enhance the almost-new look of the logs. If it weren't for the chemical burns I suffered while stripping homes with harsh chemicals, I might not have "discovered" Corn Blasting. As it turns out, Corn Blasting has been common in the Midwest for years (go figure!) and it is only new to those of us in New England.
